Development of a New Terminal Station at Muzaffarpur at a cost of Rs 8 crores

Muzaffarpur: In the Railway Budget, an allocation of Rs 4614 crore has been made for the development, expansion and modernization of East Central Railway in the year 2020-21. Also, an amount of eight crores has been allocated for construction of New Muzaffarpur Terminal Station. There is a possibility to built New Muzaffarpur Terminal Station in Sadatpur or Narayanpur.
35 crore has been given for laying 85 km of new rail line between Chhapra to Muzaffarpur, while 100 crore has been allocated for doubling of 100 km Muzaffarpur - Sagauli Railway Line. Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway, Rajesh Kumar said that in the budget, 459 crore has been given for new Railway Line Construction Work, 173 crore for Gauge Conversion Work and 54 crore for Line Doubling.

191 crore for safety work and 60 crore for road safety related work, 154 crores for passengers facilities. 111 crore for production factories, 100 crore for signalling and telecommunication work, 99 crore for bridge and road access work. The remaining work will be completed soon.
ECR has been allocated Rs 580 crore to complete track renewal work as part of safety measures. The ECR has already announced to increase the speed limit up to 130 km per hour for mail and express trains either originating or passing through Jhajha-Patna-Pt Deen Dayal Upadhaya Junction mainline route from April 30 this year. The ECR has got an allocation of Rs 10 crore for completing interlocking work at 58 big and small stations.
